APPLICATION DETAILS
RECOMMENDATION: The application requires one (1) recommendation letter. The application will generate an email request to the recommender. You will not be able to submit your application until the recommendation is complete. Log back in to submit the application once you receive confirmation that the recommendation has been completed. Be certain to check the email address of the recommender, and follow-up to ensure that the request was received. Alumni applicants must provide a different/new recommendation with each application. If the same recommendation from a prior application is submitted, the application will be disqualified.
PERSONAL STATEMENT: The personal statement is a critical part of the selection process. A poorly written statement will quickly eliminate an application from consideration. Ask for help with proofreading before submitting. Alumni applicants should not submit the same statement from a previous application. Those who do so will be disqualified. More detail regarding the personal statement can be found on the application.
TRANSCRIPTS: Seniors– Please submit the most current OFFICIAL transcript available, which must include grades from the first semester of the current school year.
Alumni— Please submit the most current OFFICIAL transcript available, which must include first term grades for the current school year if you’re an attending student. More detail regarding transcripts can be found on the application.
Recipients shall be selected on an objective and nondiscriminatory basis without regard to race, creed, religion, color, sex, age or national origin. Academic performance, recommendations from committee members, demonstrated ability, need, aptitude and promise of successful citizenship will be considered. It is my desire that traits of industry and integrity be considered; and that while exceptional intellectual ability and high grade averages should be considered, they should not be controlling.
