In order to be eligible for the Paul Lauzier Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Grant County high school graduating senior or alumni;
- reside in Grant County for a minimum of two (2) years prior to high school graduation;
- maintain the required minimum CUMULATIVE GPA of 2.75;
- attend a college, vocational, or technical school within the state of Washington.
Students who don’t meet these requirements will not be considered.
RECOMMENDATION: The application requires one (1) recommendation letter. The application will generate an email request to the recommender. You will not be able to submit your application until the recommendation is complete. Log back in to submit the application once you receive confirmation that the recommendation has been completed. Be certain to double check the email address of the recommender and follow up to ensure that the request was received.
PERSONAL STATEMENT: The personal statement is a critical part of the selection process. A poorly written statement will quickly eliminate an application from consideration. Ask for help with proofreading before submitting. Alumni applicants should not submit the same statement from a previous application. More detail regarding the personal statement can be found on the application.
TRANSCRIPTS: Seniors– Please submit the most current transcript available, i.e. transcripts which include grades from the first term of the 2020-2021 school year are preferred.
Alumni— Please submit the most current OFFICIAL transcript available, i.e. first term grades for the 2020-2021 school year if you’re a currently attending student. More detail regarding transcripts can be found on the application.
Recipients shall be selected on an objective and nondiscriminatory basis without regard to race, creed, religion, color, sex, age or national origin. Academic performance, recommendations from committee members, demonstrated ability, need, aptitude and promise of successful citizenship will be considered. It is my desire that traits of industry and integrity be considered; and that while exceptional intellectual ability and high grade averages should be considered, they should not be controlling.
